Easter can be a pain for parents of allergic children. From Easter egg hunts sponsored by Cadbury’s and the like, to a magnitude of chocolate given with the best intentions, it can be stressful.
But I’m here to help all Easter bunnies who want to make this a special time for their little chicks. Here is a list of 89 non-food treats that should fit in egg-shaped containers – perfect for an Easter egg hunt.
The majority of these will work in those plastic eggs that are fairly cheap and prolific at this time of the year, but I’ve also made some suggestions for treats that would fit in slightly larger eggs. I’ve spotted some very cute, larger paper ones in Ikea and these gorgeous metal ones from Tiger. Or you can make your own, though that kind of crafty carry-on isn’t my scene.
And if you want to give gifts that are even bigger, there is a seasonal workaround… hide them somewhere and put a clue as to their whereabouts in the egg. Keep the suspense going! I’ve not included too many of these suggestions, as you can choose literally anything depending on your budget.
So, onto my suggestions.

Hi, what great list of ideas. They are probably more fun in plastic eggs compared to regular Easter egg . We have always have an Easter egg hunt and I have alternatives to the classic eggs to find. Thanks for sharing, Chloe #TwinklyTuesday

This is brilliant! With Ben really being into trying to walk i’ve been considering doing something that encourages it but as he’s still only 10 months I wasnt too sure on alot of chocolate as no doubt relatives will get him some. These toy ideas would be perfect for a little hunt!
Thanks for the ideas #marvmondays

Thank you for posting this with us at #TriumphantTales. We ended up going to an Easter Trail today in a local forest which he loved… and mummy got to keep his egg afterwards haha!

Good idea – my Mum never bought us chocolate for Easter – we always got enough of that from Grandparents! It’s a good idea not to just offer sweet treats #twinklytuesday

I’ve done a plastic egg hunt for the last couple of years and Zach loves it. I fill them with lots of fun things and it’s always gone down a treat. I always pop a couple of small chocolate treats in a couple of them but otherwise it’s all about the little stuff! Stickers always go down a treat! Thanks for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday

Some great ideas here! I’ve never done an Easter egg hunt with my daughter but this year I want to try it, she’s just turned three so that’s a good age. I may use some of your ideas. #MarvMondays

Fab, Ruth! Let me know how you get on. Three is a great age because lots of the small bits are not suitable for under threes x
